February 2003 Print this out, then, when you feel ready, when you feel prepared to be challenged, you go ahead and read it. And you like it. And you show it to others. And, behold! they like it, too. And they tell two friends and they tell two friends, and so on and so on. Today the web! Tomorrow the world!
You can get to all of these by clicking here or just follow some of the links below.
A Brood of Binkys!
Well, two Binkys anyway (our award to websites that are inventive, creative, and not the usual mediocre Christian slop). First Binky goes to Truth Miners, the website that attempts to hunt down the truth behind all those forwarded messages you get in the email about urban legends and saccharin sweet miracle stories and rumors about satanic companies (The Microsoft story is true!) - all the stories Christians are notorious for believing and spreading. TruthMiners don't sleep until they find out what's up. We highly suggest you go there before you forward that next email. [click here]
Then there are our kindred satire spirits at
The Door, formerly The Wittenburg Door of long ago, the mag that every seminary student should get. No, we don't always agree with them, and yes, sometimes they can go too far. But we love them because they always make us think and reevaluate. Go knock on the Door if you can. [click here]
Signs and Wonders
Don't you hate it when nonChristians can tell a better spiritual story than Christians? So do we. But it's been done again in the movie Signs. It's been released in DVD/VHS, and now is your chance to see a wonderfully made film that shows how God can mold and shape events, which to our eyes seem disconnected and desperate, but which all work together... We also have a link [here] to a well written critique of the film if you still don't believe us - which you always should without question. ;)
Brother, can you spare 5 minutes?
C'mon! You know you've always wanted to defend the Unborn but you thought it was too complicated or over your head or gross or... whatever. Now Stand to Reason has a 5-minute ProLife defense for you! Five lousy minutes of your time to learn how to defend and possibly save the life of an Unborn child. To us that's a brainy no-brainer. [click here]
Shirt Prototype
It's done! Sorta. Our swordandspirit shirt is near completion! Kinda. In the next newsletter we'll ask you to vote for the best one and then we'll do it! We hope. (If so, we're on the next Miracles show on PAX.)
We need You!
Interested in writing something and getting it published on our site, something apologetic, or some point of view that will cause us all to think??? Then do it, fercrimaneyoutloudsakes! Even if we don't agree with it, we'll print it if it's well presented and isn't full of sailor talk or innuendos or those sugary sweet stories that we get in the mail all the time.
We need You! The Sequel
We're going to Spirit West Coast this year and we need your support - as in moola. We need to pay for a truckload o' stuff - the booth, a projector, reprints on tracts, booklets, books, CD-ROMs, shirts, accomodations. We give away essentially everything, so we kinda put ourself in this position, to be honest. Thus, silver and gold have we none, but if you can spare a buck or two, please do. [click here]
Since most of you out there are young folk or seminary students or newlyweds or teachers we already know you don't have any money. So if you can't, that's OK, but please pray that the Lord somehow provides. There's SO much we'd like to do...
FYI we are a charitable 501(3)c tax-deductible organization.
Giveaway
This month's question is: Which of these theories for the reason for the existence of the universe most closely aligns with the biblical account in Genesis 1:1? If you are number 50 to answer it (at the website, thank you!) you can have any book in our Liberry. You should have a blast answering this one. It's no big mystery, after all. (Was Chitty Chitty Bang Bang a song in Willy Wonka or Mary Poppins?) [click here]
Bottom Line
* Mark got to speak to a SRO class of kids at a youth conference meeting at Biola College. He got a half hour(!) to speak on Proving the Existence of God. Long story short: It went wonderfully, quickly, and no, it wasn't proven, but evidences were laid out. And he got a free hamburger.
* Mark gets to speak at a King's College conference sponsored by Reasons To Believe on hope, purpose, and destiny in the universe on March 1. If you remember, please pray!!! Really!
* What's up with the LA Kings? Sheesh!
As usual we are sincerely yours. We hope we can help you in all sorts of ways this year to drop that accursed fear and lack of confidence that keeps us from speaking up for the Truth that is in us!

Somehow it always comes around
to be the best for you, the best for me,
And then we see the Beauty of it all.
