April/May 2003 Print this out, then, when you feel ready, when you feel prepared to be challenged, you go ahead and read it. And you like it. And you show it to others. And, behold! they like it, too. And they tell two friends and they tell two friends, and so on and so on. Today the web! Tomorrow the world!
You can get to all of these by clicking here or just follow some of the links below.
what's wrong?!
Well, what happened to April's noozletter? Yes, we know you missed a whole month of happy bathroom reading. Sorry, we were flooded in work and school (a local flood, by the way). But April's showers bring May flowers, and with that, here's what's new...
powerpoint of EVILLLLL!!
Mark just did a talk at a local college called Why would a God of Love...? on the problem of Christianity and evil. Want it? To alleviate your own suffering we're giving it to you - for free!!! (We are Humble incarnate.) [click here]
shirts are done!!
We tweaked the new shirt a bit and got it to the printers and ba-da-bing now they can be yours!!! [click here]
These are a fundraiser for us, so we're asking for a donation of 15 American dollars for them and 20 for the long sleeve. (Long sleeves aren't shown on the site, yet) If they fly, we'll do hooded sweatshirts. And maybe open a clothing line including shoes and beach fashionware, and a cosmetic line and...
swordandspirit signs Jaso!
It took a while but we finally signed Jason "Jaso" Bendicksen onto the swordandspirit team. He is a philosopher/theologian extraordinaire. We hope that means more input on the theo side of the site. He promises not to use big boring philosophy words - anything over 3 syllables comes with a free definition. There we go again with that free thing!
Blood Pressure rising!
One of our scouts out in Internet Land, Jimmy "the Mole" Taylor, found one of the most ridiculous websites EVER. It's called (and I kid you not) Balaam's Ass Speaks Journal. It is a far right fundy over-the-edge-of-the-cliff site that seriously tries to explain why CS Lewis (among others) is a tool of the Devil and burns in hell as we speak. We thought at first it was just really good satire. It ain't. If you have been blessed by the works of CS Lewis you might fire them off a letter. And then pretend they will seriously consider your input. [click here]
news flash!!
Our good buddy and webdesigner Robert Palmer fashioned us a beauty of a title page in Flash which you may have missed. Thanks Uncle Bob! [click here to see it for free!]
alright already!!!
SOMEONE TOOK US UP ON IT - AGAIN! Now Chris Woollet writes an article on young earth vs old earth - with references!!! (Smarty Pants!) It's called It's an Old Earth After All. Go get it here. Any questions or comments on it, we'll hook you up. Remember: you too can write and get it published here. [click here]
sharp link alert!
Razormouth.com bills itself as a "Daily Kirk In the Pants". It's a place where you can read provocative Christian ideas and essays - a rarity on the web. We don't always agree but they do make one think. Gasp! Thanks for the link, Eric! [click here].
expenses up!
[note: this is a repeat from last month's noozletter, and the one before that. and we'll print it until someone takes it seriously]
We're going to
Spirit West Coast this year and we need your support - as in moola. We need to pay for a truckload o' stuff - the booth, a projector, reprints on tracts, booklets, books, CD-ROMs, shirts, accomodations. We give away essentially everything, so we kinda put ourself in this position, to be honest. Thus, silver and gold have we none, but if you can spare a buck or two, please do. [click here]
Since most of you out there are young folk or seminary students or newlyweds or teachers we already know you don't have any money. So if you can't, that's OK, but please pray that the Lord somehow provides. There's SO much we'd like to do...
FYI we are a charitable 501(3)c tax-deductible organization.
giveaway
This month's question is: Why isn't there a giveaway anymore? Because no one played! We couldn't give anything away for free, so we gave it up. 'Tis a strange world where one can't give books away. Alas!
bottom line
* As mentined above, Mark got the opportunity to speak for a local college in Temecula, California, on evil. Despite the subject it went really well, with lots of good questions. And all without a single Diet Coke!
* He also got to speak for RTB in Denver to a bunch of educators on teaching science from a biblical perspective. Four flights in 22 hours can suck the very life out of a man, but the Denver people were great!
Thanks for your kind words of support and encouragement. We don't expect to please everyone with what we say and how we do it. So prayer and encouragement are always welcome. Thanks very much from the two three of us!

and Jaso
