The Blood:Water Mission is a non-profit organization founded by Dan Haseltine, Stephen Mason, Matt Odmark and Charlie Lowell of the band Jars of Clay. The Mission's purpose is to educate and empower college students and community leaders to get personally involved in the battle against HIV/AIDS raging in Third World countries. In early 2003, Blood:Water Mission launched a series of Symposiums to offer an understanding of the crisis, and the opportunity to take immediate action through partnerships with organizations including Global Student AIDS Campaign, African Leadership, DATA and the Hope Child Initiative, sponsored by global relief organization World Vision, which builds upon an existing network of thousands of communities to establish new programs for HIV/AIDS in three key areas: Prevention, Care and Advocacy.
